Dr. Krysten DeSouza, HBSc, ND.

Dr. Krysten DeSouza is a Naturopathic Doctor, with a special interest in mental health and its links to digestion and sleep. Dr. Krysten has seen first-hand the power of the mind-body connection, and believes that managing mental health should take a whole-body approach. This includes acknowledging the roles that diet, exercise, sleep, hormones, and stress management play in the development of mood disorders.

Dr. Krysten is an evidence-based Naturopathic Doctor. She targets the brain through the gut, as much research has surfaced linking the digestive tract to mental health. Your gut really is your second brain! Her approach involves using vitamins and nutritional supports, beginning with the most gentle and effective solutions.

Dr. Krysten works collaboratively with medical doctors, psychotherapists, physiotherapists, osteopaths and other healthcare professionals to provide her patients with well rounded care.

Dr. Krysten’s philosophy in a nut shell:

  1. You are responsible for your own health. My goal is to educate, empower and coach you through your journey. I provide you the roadmap, and you put in the work to create the change. It’s hard work, but it’s worth it!
  2. Health doesn’t come in the form of a pill. Supplements are meant to support the body through a transition, not to be on forever.
  3. I am not opposed to pharmaceutical medication. I believe there is a time and place for everything and encourage my patients to find the safest and most effective solution for them.
  4. True medicine is individualized. What works for others may not work for you. You are a unique individual and your body requires a plan specific for its needs.
